In a sentence, I teach advertising students how to be creative. I teach them that "Creative" is not a department, and that everyone has the capacity to be creative. I encourage them to consider that creativity is about using their imaginations to solve problems. I also give them tools to nurture that creativity. And then I send them out into the world a bit more prepared to share their big ideas.

The scope of my teaching practice is wide-ranging. I teach everything from creative strategy, to copywriting, to design, to Adobe, to presentation skills, to transmedia storytelling, to branding, to portfolio development. I also teach a 4th-year seminar course called The Future of Advertising, which is designed to give our undergraduate students the skills they need to succeed in the 21st century.
Recently, our program underwent a comprehensive review, with the inclusion of revised courses that will better reflect the importance of digital thinking. The focus will be to lay a foundation that fosters an open and flexible teaching and learning environment, which is sustainable and adaptive, and which takes into consideration program resources and objectives. And of course, with the goal of being courses that students absolutely love.
